Thangles BOM

I think I'm SICK! Anyone who knows me, knows how much I hate half square triangles (HST) with a passion. Last year I really thought I could overcome this hatred by doing the Thangles BOM. I picked out different fabrics than the ones the shop was using since they were ugly. I bought yards of these two fabrics, a couple purples, and a couple light lavendars and a pretty woodsy bear/moose/trees batik for borders. I started the blocks by sewing hundreds of Thangles HST's at the quilt retreat last year, mostly during the middle of the night! You can't screw up sewing on the straight lines when you're half awake. I even got them cut apart and pressed, but that's as far as they got. They've been rolled up in my block buddy since then. When I got home other things took priority, so I never got around to doing this one.
Today at work I decided I should try to do a block a month and get it done this year. I figured if I started with the first two blocks as my goal for the night, I might get started on this quilt and actually work on it.
I'm excited to say I finished the first two and I'm really happy with how they turned out!

I also shortened two pairs of jeans which is really not something I like to do. I made the bag e bottom cover for the baby bag and worked on my siggy quilt with HST's too! I really can't believe how much I got accomplished in just a few hours.
