Tuesday, October 10, 2006 - Mini Lightning Quilt

Here's the mini PP quilt I did for Carol's group. I've had it finished for about a week, but with the sale I haven't finished it. I bought the perfect silver metallic thread to quilt it with and even picked up Carol's 300 PP quilt blocks tonight when I got a 40% off coupon. I am so excited to get started on my postcard swap. I am swamped at work because I took yesterday off, so I won't have much time to write this week, but wanted to share this picture.

Friday, October 6, 2006 - Busy, Busy, Busy!

Wow this week has flown by so quickly. I can't believe it's been over a week since I last wrote. Last week one of the girls at work quit, so my coworker and I are taking on the responisiblities of all her work too. This makes for a completely exhausting day at work. I'm not used to being this swamped. Last week I started my dad's quilt, put all the blocks in rows and was sewing the rows together when I ran out of the verigated thread I was using. Started on my brothers, got tired of it but have a lot of the blocks done. This weekend I was so busy cleaning out my storage shed and getting ready for the sale this weekend that I didn't get to sew. Every night this week I worked on my mini quilt for the CD mini PP quilt competition. I finally got the top done last night and went to the Sewing Center to buy the metallic thread I want to quilt it with. Wow! $10 for the spool. I was thinking more like 5 and not quite as big, but guess I will have to wait until next week and pay day to get the thread. Oh well it is the grand opening next week and so I will just have to stop by and sign up for the drawings everyday. They are giving a machine away!!! I guess I can't scrimp on the thread though because I know it's good and the salesman knows what she is talking about!(mom) haha. This weekend is the auction sale of my grandpa's house, and all my grandparents belongings. We have to move everything out of the house to the back yard tomorrow and the sale is on Sunday. Luckily the weather is supposed to be beautiful for the weekend. Lots of work, but I took Monday off so at least I can rest, relax, and maybe even sew.
