Mystery Quilt Time! On Ringo Lake Clue #1

Black Friday was the start of the annual Quiltville Mystery and I'm excited to be participating again.

All week I worked to finish piecing En Provence. I spent most of Thurs. and Friday nights getting it all webbed together. I cut out the pieces for On Ringo Lake Clue #1 Friday and hoped to get it sewn this weekend.
My husband had other ideas! We went Black Friday shopping, all day, including home twice to switch vehicles! His long box 3500 just didn't fit well in any parking lots. Saturday it was 55 in South Dakota with no wind... unheard of for November, so he took out the front window of the house and replaced it. I kept watch over the kids and went Small Business Saturday shopping to my favorite quilt shop.

After a wild weekend of home repair and fall cleaning, I was ready to sew. I was able to get all of the strip sets sewn last night. I love all the batiks and I'm using fat quarters which give me some variety.

I made quick work of the 1.5" sub-cuts using my Stripology Squared ruler. It's been such a great new ruler for me as it keeps everything cut perfectly. See the little stars at the bottom? Those tell me where to cut the 1.5" cuts. It was super slick and I could cut 3 strata sets at a time. All my strata sets are about 21" as they are from fat quarters.

See how awesome they turn out when they are sub-cut?

I was able to get 15 made last night before calling it quits for the night. I have to work today, so no staying up all night. I'm excited about how they turned out. I have the rest cut and I should be able to finish piecing them tonight.

I'm thinking I might have to finish the rows of En Provence while I am sewing these or it will never get done. I really want to finish it up, now that I've gotten this far.

I'm linking up with Bonnie Hunter at Quiltville. #quiltvillemystery #onringolakequilt
