A Lovely Year of Finishes October Goals

A Lovely Year of Finishes
I feel so successful after finishing the wolf top that I know I can get this quilt into a top this month. It's my mom's pink ribbon quilt top and it stalled because she made the blocks wrong. It was one of the last quilts she made when she was sick and her brain didn't function right. So it's my goal to make it into a top. I don't know where it will go or how I will actually put it together, but I'll give it my best shot.  I've been waiting for inspiration or someone close with breast cancer to give it to, but so far no one has come up that needs this special quilt. Hopefully I can finish the top and then when I need it, it will be ready to quilt.

I pulled the pink ribbon quilt out of the crawl space to work on and also pulled out a full tote of pink ribbon fabric to donate. I'm not going to be using it, so I'm gifting it to someone who will use it. I also dug through a tote of kids fabric and found this piece of pink/green/black dot minkee. I've been wanting to make a pink/brown carpenters star, but this minkee inspired me to make it pink/black/green with a white background. Mikaela has already claimed it for herself, so maybe I'll get it made before her birthday.

Also on my list are a few other projects to finish up.

I'm currently making a queen size pink quilt for a raffle for our local cancer center. I would be interested in purchasing your pink ribbon fabric if there is enough for a back. Email me at hughesjeanne@hotmail.com
