My Bags over the last 2 months #elmstreetquiltsbagit

I've been making a lot of bags over the last two months, so I thought I would share them for the

#elmstreetquiltsbagit

event. Elm Street Quilts Bag It Event is going on right now.
I made 3 Becca Bags from scraps of Remington fabric and camo fabric. These will be Christmas gifts.
Three more bags finished last night for gifts.

These purple/teal baskets/bags are great for giving as small gifts.
Four baskets finished tonight! One of my older UFOs.
This one holds all my "stuff" at work.

I made two of these Becca bags from leftover quilted material. Both use the 1 zipper technique.
Finished up this Becca bag tonight.
These five sweet pea pods were made from scraps of Bendy bags.
Five sweetpea pods done. Only 7 left!
I made up these three clear project bags for my WIP's to go in.
Three more project bags completed.
I made two bottle bags. This is the medium.
Essential oil bag made with wine fabric scraps.
This is the inside of the small one. They hold essential oils.

I also made myself a new purse. I just love the horse fabric.

Stitchin Chix Bag

Last night mom and I got together with the girls from work and made Stitchin Chix Bags. They turned out awesome and went together so fast. They are going to be the bag for Bag Ladies next month. They went together so fast and really were quite easy to make. I finished mine in about 2 hours. Here's my finished bag.

July Bag Ladies!

Tonight was the monthly meeting of the Bag Ladies club at the shop. We made sewing totes/cosmetic bags. Each person made a unique size and shape, but they were all able to make at least two from a two fat quarters. The bags are a great way to use up random fat quarters and practice quilting. There were 6 in the class and I got pictures of at least one of the bags that each person made.
Becky made 4 super cute sewing bags.

Leticia had a bit of Hawaiian flair to hers:

Jo made a great, small 30's print bag.
IMG_0061
Linda made two bags to match a large tote she is making.
IMG_0062
Carol made the next two, the blue first and then the fun cosmetic bag below. The yellow one has flannel on the inside. Carol is the queen of flannel quilts.

Laurie made a couple small bags. This one was a floral print.

I think everyone learned how to put in the zipper easily and drop the feed dogs to close it off. We always have a good time and learn lots during our monthly meetings. Next month is a scrap bag for the sewing machine.

Scrap Bag

Last night a couple of my coworkers, mom, and I got together and made scrap bags for our sewing machines. Mom had picked up the fabric when we were on vacation and we had fun sewing them together. It has a lanyard for scissors and a pocket for scissors or a seam ripper. We used crushed walnut litter for the pin cushion part which seemed to work really well. Mom and I talked about doing these for bag ladies as I think they would be fun.

In addition, while everyone was getting set up, I sewed on my Happy Hour blocks. I got the centers all done, so two more pieces and my blocks will be done. I've been putting it off for far too long. I'd like to get the blocks done tonight and be able to quilt it this weekend.

My Cosmetic Bag

After I made the first one, i worked on a second. I made it 5 1/2"x13" with 1 1/2" corners. It turned out a bit long and skinny, but I wanted the whole cowboy on there. I'm going to make a different one tomorrow night that has sewing fabric on it. I think I'll try 6 1/2" x12" next time with 1 1/2" squares out of the bottom. The other one had 1" corners and the bottom was too narrow.

Leslie's Cosmetic Bag

Tonight I worked on samples for Bag Ladies in July. I made this one for my MIL and used her favorite fabric. I think I'm out of it now! This one was 7"x12" when I started. She thought it was great.

Bag Ladies - Miranda & Mini Miranda

Tuesday night was the final night of our May Bag Ladies Club. We made either the Mini or the regular sized Miranda Bag. There were 5 ladies in the class for May. Lu & Diane also made Mini ones as well, but I missed taking a picture of them. The ladies all went home with a finished bag after two night of class. I love teaching classes with my mom and this one was fun since it was a bag I knew how to make very well.
