September Finishes

September flew by and it appears October is going to do the same. I've been very busy finishing up UFO's and trying to get a bunch of bags done.
I worked on several blocks of On Ringo Lake and I think I finished 5 more blocks. I also finished a lot of the corner pieces.

My biggest finish was my Farm Girl Vintage quilt. It was quilted by Marie Brewer and I quickly finished it.

I love the farm animals on it, which is why I had Marie quilt it.

I'm loving the way the quilting turned out.

I spent an afternoon quilting and was able to quilt Cobblestone, done in Glamping Gypsies fabric.

I finished the binding and I'm so happy with how it turned out. It will be a quilt for our bed in the camper.

I bought this pattern at Mikaela's begging and then promptly lost it back in June. I found it the end of September when I was going on a work trip. I'm so happy I found it!

I flew to St. Louis for a work conference the last week of September. I took my hexie diamonds (or popcorn as Regina calls them.) and sewed them on the plane rides. I have them all sewn together and ready to make into a table runner.

We toured the Arch. If you haven't been there recently, the new visitor center is amazing.

I loved the trip and learning all the history.

I also worked hard to finish my scrappy trip around the world top. I took this picture and then realized I had two blocks wrong. I fixed it before quilting it. 


I feel like I was pretty productive. I spent quite a bit of time working on a Tudor bag to take on my trip, then miss cut, got frustrated, and quit on it, so it's still in pieces.

March OMG Goal

March is going to go by so quickly. The first week was just crazy and I'm sure it won't slow down much.
My goal for March is to get my yellow and blue scrappy trip around the world into a quilt top. I've made a lot of the blocks and have about 14 more strata sets left to make and about 20 blocks that are cut, but need to be ripped and sewn. Hopefully, I'll be able to get this top done. It's my UFO for Judy's challenge, so this gives me a reason to keep on pushing forward.

September Quilting Accomplishments

September was a very productive month!! I was able to bind the June Quilt It's made entirely of scraps from our wedding and honeymoon quilts. I made it entirely from the stash. I still have plenty of purple scraps.

Mathew and Mikaela wanted minkee pillowcases, so I made one for Mathew. He loves it, but it didn't turn out as well as I expected.

My dad and his wife wanted to give our little "bro" a wedding present to go with the quilt I made him, so I made pillows to match.

My oldest UFO is finished. I made this wall hanging from my Ahhhh blocks. They were all EPP blocks. The entire top is EPP. I started it in 2013.

I made my friend's sister a tag blanket for her new daughter. She loves UK Basketball, so I made it to represent those colors.

I made a goal to work on 1 block a week of En Provence. I was able to get this block made this week.

My brother's best friend married this month and we all went to the wedding. They are huge Harley fans, so I used this panel and Crown Royal blocks to make the quilt. It has black minkee on the back.

They opened it the next morning.

It worked out for Paul and I to go to my dream/bucket list concert Garth Brooks in Sioux Falls the day after the wedding. My dad and his wife took the kids home. We didn't get home until 11 PM Sunday night, but it was so worth it. I loved it. My hubby isn't a big fan, but he did indulge me!

This just made my year!!

My numbers are still looking great! I would like to use 150 yards this year.

Quilting in June

It seems like June is flying by and I haven't really accomplished much, but it's been so nice to not have any deadlines. I made 4 more Sweet Pea Pods from scraps. I still have a few more to finish up, but so glad these are done.

I entered my Dangerous BOM in the quilt show judging and received an honorable mention ribbon.

Mikaela and I helped with the open sew area. She sewed quite a bit and helped me finish 2 rows.




I had her take a picture of me with my quilt.

I also finished the final blocks for the Ahhhh's quilt and got it sewn into a top. I'm unsure how I will quilt it, but that's ways off so I'm not worried about getting the paper out yet.

I made my dad a pillow out of a block he had from his mom that was never finished. Here's a picture of my grandparents with the pillow.

I started the Crazy Mom Quilts June quilt, quilt along. So far I have lots of strips sewn. I need to do more pressing and sewing.

I made an embroidered towel and washcloth when I got my embroidery machine back. It was acting up and needed a bit of help. These are a gift for a recent grad.

I finished the binding on 8 potholders. These will match our Wine Themed kitchen.

Here's the book I'm using for the June quilt with my first 3 blocks completed. I lost the ruler to trim these up with, so I went to all the quilt shops in town looking for a replacement.... only they didn't have it, so I went home and by pure luck found it.... with my small rulers. I had forgotten I put it there. I have more blocks sewn, but we've been camping and I haven't been sewing.

Once I finished my Ahhhh's quilt top, I worked more on my Sakura quilt top. While we were camping this weekend I was able to get most of the first round sewn on to it.

Last night I had a guild meeting and I was able to sew for 2.5 hours. I got most of the 2nd round completed but realized I was still 2 stars short, so I am now working on those. I'm loving how it's turning out. This one has been super fast and I'm going to be doing another EPP soon.

Next week starts a 2+ week vacation, with a few sprinkled in work days. I am so looking forward to some time to sew. We'll be camping the entire time so the first part will be hand sewing and after the 4th we'll be at Hart Ranch, so I'll have power and be able to sew. Hopefully, I'll get a few more finishes before I leave.

March Accomplishments

March has been a good month for me. I was able to take a day off during Spring break to quilt up several quilts. I also got binding done on several others. I made my nephew Payton a bag for his birthday.


Both sides were so cute.

I made myself a new wallet. I really love this pattern and planning to teach a class on how to make it.

All the pockets are great.

I made a former co-worker/friend a baby quilt.

I finished up the binding on the Brighten Up snowball quilt.

I quilted and finished the binding on this baby quilt.

I started a new EPP handwork project. I'm using a charm pack and some background. I have all 7 "blocks" done now and am ready to piece it together. I LOVE how it's turning out, although I should be working on my other projects.


I finished the Buckeye Beauty and a neighbor offered to buy it, so I quickly did the binding.

I also put a label on it.

I bought this frame at a quilt show last year and finally printed out some of my favorite quilts to put in it. I love the look!

Most of the month has been spent piecing this beauty. I am making it for a retiring coworker.

I was super excited that my center came out perfect on the 1st try!!

I added the background in and now I just have to add borders to the top and bottom to make it longer. I hope to quilt it on Good Friday.


My Stash Report is doing pretty well. Most of what I bought was for samples. I'm really excited to try StarStruck and make Amethyst Project bag and the Tudor Bag. I really need to use the fabric the kids bought last month so I can count the yardage!
